Good afternoon Elm!
This week, in our Phonics sessions, we have been learning that the letter ‘y’ can make and ‘igh’ phoneme, and ‘ee’ phoneme or an ‘i’ phoneme.Β Your spellings all reflect this and are words that we have practised in school and will continue to practise too.
They are:-
- why,
- dry,
- spy,
- my,
- mummy,
- daddy,
- funny,
- gym,
- myth,
- crystal
These spellings will be tested on Friday 11th June.
They are called ‘Alternative pronunciations of the ‘y’ grapheme’ on Spelling Shed.
I shall also be looking at the leader board on Friday morning and rewarding the top 3 on it with Dojo points.Β Everyone who practises their spellings will receive a Dojo.
If you would like to know how your child does on their weekly spelling test, please email me on caroline.bagshaw@taw.org.uk.
Have fun practising!
Mrs Bagshaw π
