Where have the past eight weeks gone?!

Over the holidays, I would like the children to:

Phonics

At the beginning of the school year, the children were tested on all of the phase 2 and phase 3 phonemes. There is a sheet in your pack with the phonemes highlighted of the sounds your child is unsure of.

Please ensure that your child is saying the phonetic sound instead of the letter sound. If you are unsure of what this is, please do not hesitate to contact me via email – caroline.bagshaw@taw.org.uk

There is also a phonics pack provided by Mrs Monteith (Phonics Lead) for the children to practise segmenting and blending real and nonsense words. This will help the children with their phonics screening test later in the year (June 2021).

Numbots

I would also like the children to explore the website Numbots – https://play.numbots.com/#/intro

This is a website used by the school for the children to practice their number fact knowledge. The children are to play the games and work up the levels.

Your child’s password will be stuck into the front of their reading record on Thursday alongside with the passwords for various sites.
