If you ever find yourself having to be away from school because you are self-isolating, you will be able to find work to do on a weekly self- isolation page.
Just look for the date of the week that we are on and there will be some work. It will not be as detailed as when we are home learning but it will be what Elm class are covering in school.
I hope that you will find this helpful for the time that you are away from school.
Well done to everyone in Elm that has been practising their spellings on Spelling Shed this week. You have helped us to remain top of the whole school leader board for a 4th week!!!! I am so proud of you all!
I have looked at the leader board for Elm and our top 3 were:-
1st = Liam (5 dojos)
2nd = Joelyn (3 dojos)
3rd = Ember (2 dojos)
Everyone who has been on Spelling Shed to practice will receive 1 dojo.
If you cannot access the PowerPoint, these are the spellings you need to test your child on:
shirt
third
first
shirt
dirty
thirsty
birthday
do
has

PE
If we were in school today, we would be having our PE lesson with Mr Birch from Crossbar but instead I have chosen a range of activities for you to complete at home. You can choose from any of the following:
English
For today’s English lesson, we are going to be creating our own story map of ‘Goldilocks and the 3 Bears’. I would like you to work through the PowerPoint where I will explain today’s.
I have changed what I put on the weekly timetable and thought that we would do some Music this afternoon as you have missed 2 of your weekly music sessions with Mrs Atkins.
Here is a link to the BBC Bitesize Lesson ‘Sound Effects and talking about sounds’. I would like to watch the video and then try the activities suggested on the page.
Have a look around your house to see which everyday objects you can use to make sounds. Can you find something that you can:-
hit
tap
scrape
strum
pluck
knock
Maybe there is someone in your house who can play ‘Guess the Sound’ with you:-
Pair up with a friend and take it in turns to close your eyes and guess what the other is using to create a sound effect. What materials are they using? (wood, metal, plastic, paper, rubber, stone) How are they making the sound? (hitting, tapping, scraping, shaking, strumming, plucking, knocking).
There are many things you can do with your work when you are complete. You can take a picture and upload the file onto the blog, you can send it to myself via email (caroline.bagshaw@taw.org.uk) or you can keep hold of it and show me when we return to school on Monday 30th November.
It is important that you are completing all tasks set as when we return to school, we shall be continuing with what we have learnt!
Have a marvellous day and remember that I am on the blog or available via email if you need me!
For today’s English lesson, we are going to be using objects to help say the story of ‘Goldilocks and the 3Bears’ out loud. I would like you to work through the PowerPoint and I will explain your task for today.
For today’s guided reading task, I would like you to work your way through the PowerPoint and complete what I say! You will need to watch the videos of me reading the story to you to help you to complete today’s task! 🙂
For Science this week, I would like you to go through the PowerPoint below where I will talk you through it and explain the activity that I would like you to complete.

In order to complete the maths work, I would like you to work through the PowerPoint and then I would like you to go on a 3D shape hunt around your house.
I love to see some photographs of the shapes that you have found. Don’t forget to name the shapes that you have found!
English
For English today, you will need a piece of paper and a pencil as you will be writing a story. I would like you to work your way through the PowerPoint and complete what I say!
This does not need to be printed out as the children can tell you the name of the planet and country that they live on and can draw the pictures on separate pieces of paper.
