Self-Isolation Work

If you ever find yourself having to be away from school because you are self-isolating, you will be able to find work to do on a weekly self- isolation page.

Just look for the date of the week that we are on and there will be some work.  It will not be as detailed as when we are home learning but it will be what Elm class are covering in school.

I hope that you will find this helpful for the time that you are away from school.

See you soon,

Mrs Bagshaw 🙂

PE

If we were in school today, we would be having our PE lesson with Mr Birch from Crossbar but instead I have chosen a range of activities for you to complete at home. You can choose from any of the following:

English

For today’s English lesson, we are going to be creating our own story map of ‘Goldilocks and the 3 Bears’.  I would like you to work through the PowerPoint where I will explain today’s.

Guided Reading

For today’s guided reading task, I would like you to work your way through the PowerPoint and complete what I say!

Music

I have changed what I put on the weekly timetable and thought that we would do some Music this afternoon as you have missed 2 of your weekly music sessions with Mrs Atkins.

Here is a link to the BBC Bitesize Lesson ‘Sound Effects and talking about sounds’.  I would like to watch the video and then try the activities suggested on the page.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zk86qfr/articles/zk7wr2p

  • Have a look around your house to see which everyday objects you can use to make sounds.  Can you find something that you can:-
    • hit
    • tap
    • scrape
    • strum
    • pluck
    • knock
  • Maybe there is someone in your house who can play ‘Guess the Sound’ with you:-
    • Pair up with a friend and take it in turns to close your eyes and guess what the other is using to create a sound effect.  What materials are they using? (wood, metal, plastic, paper, rubber, stone)  How are they making the sound? (hitting, tapping, scraping, shaking, strumming, plucking, knocking).

There are many things you can do with your work when you are complete. You can take a picture and upload the file onto the blog, you can send it to myself via email (caroline.bagshaw@taw.org.uk) or you can keep hold of it and show me when we return to school on Monday 30th November.

It is important that you are completing all tasks set as when we return to school, we shall be continuing with what we have learnt!

Have a marvellous day and remember that I am on the blog or available via email if you need me!

Mrs Bagshaw 🙂

I have got lots of fun activities planned for you and, so you have a rough idea of what you will be doing, here is this week’s timetable of activities:

Weekly Timetable (wb 23.11)

Before we go any further I know that all of Elm would like to wish Millie a very happy 6th birthday!  We hope that you have a wonderful day and we can’t wait to celebrate with you when we are back in school.

Here are today’s tasks:-

Can you find:-

I love to see some photographs of the shapes that you have found.  Don’t forget to name the shapes that you have found!

I would then like the children to complete the following booklet:-
